Weishaupt Design Group is a North American-based furniture retailer, manufacturer, and distributor engaged in both residential and contract markets, offering classic-contemporary designs with timeless style and enduring quality. We are currently seeking a full-time UX/UI Design Intern to support all brands under Weishaupt Design Group.
Responsibilities:
- Create UX and UI flows, wireframes, experience maps, and interaction models, resulting in low to high fidelity prototypes
- Create compelling wireframes and prototypes adhering to usability and accessibility standards, optimizing user experience across digital touchpoints (Mobiles, Desktop, any other digital customer touchpoint).
- Optimize and simplify the user experience and the design of the user interface.
- Present designs to diverse stakeholders, collaborating closely with designers, and developers for exceptional product quality.
- Lead strategic planning, translating customer and business needs into intuitive design solutions.
- Advocate for user-centered design methods, prioritize enhancements grounded in research, and contribute to design standards and best practices.
- Champion conversion-focused design and strategic messaging throughout the customer journey.
- Brainstorm and develop concepts for brands and new categories, supporting the design team with various tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring design concepts to life and conduct user research.
- Stay updated on industry trends to continually improve design elements and maintain brand consistency.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a post-secondary degree or certificate in UX Design, UI, or related field required.
- Experience in Adobe XD, UX Pin, Figma or equivalent tools.
- Skilled in presenting complex interaction and user flows to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledgeable in qualitative and quantitative UX research methods, including usability tests, card sorting, surveys, and heat maps.
- Experience in ECommerce projects, emphasizing booking flow UX/UI and conversion optimization.
- Strong desire for continuous learning in ecommerce and UX/UI Design.
- Ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders, executives, and subject matter experts.
- Proficiency in UX design best practices, user-centered design (UCD), user research, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, and usability/accessibility considerations.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating user-friendly experiences.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to balance aesthetics with functionality.
- Openness to feedback and constructive criticism.
- Knowledge in Contentful, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills a plus.
- Full-time internship availability required.

- Portfolio should highlight both UX and UI work.
- Demonstrates understanding of design principles and industry-standard interaction patterns for mobile.
- Showcases end-to-end work on digital product design projects, from discovery to delivery.
- Includes pixel-perfect designs created with tools like Oxygen, WordPress, Figma, adobe XD, HTML, and CSS.
