Associate Product Designer - Design Systems

Recent advancements in underlying technology have finally made it possible for AI to impact clinical care in a meaningful way. The Tempus platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an Associate Product Designer to join our Design Center of Excellence Team. This team spans all parts of the business to achieve greater efficiency, consistency, and collaboration, ultimately leading to better product quality and user satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be passionate about design systems, have a keen eye for detail, and be eager to collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a cohesive and efficient design language across all Tempus products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop reusable design components, styles, and patterns for the Tempus Boron Design System; evaluate new component requests across product design teams to ensure consistency and collective agreement.
  • Work with the design team and engineering team to assess the feasibility and accessibility of new components from end-to-end.
  • Provide detailed specifications and guidance for both design and engineering; assist in integrating new components into the Tempus Component Library (TCL) for developer use through design QA-ing.
  • Offer best practice support and guidelines for product designers utilizing the design system through regular design consultations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with Figma (for building out libraries is a plus)
  • Portfolio showcasing solid user experiences OR willingness to complete a design exercise
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with design systems and component libraries
  • A degree or certificate in HCI, interaction design, or equivalent experience
  • Strong emphasis on user-centered design principles
  • Background or interest in healthcare or health tech
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
