About this Role

  • Candidate will gain experience with design and prototyping tool Figma and learn best practices.
  • Candidate will gain experience in working closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure a cohesive user experience across the product lifecycle.
  • Candidate will gain various essential skills needed during the product definition, research, digital design, and go-to-market process that goes beyond a UX/UI design role.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Accessibility Audits: Assisting in evaluating digital products to ensure they meet accessibility standards and offer inclusive user experiences.
  • User Research Support: Assisting in conducting user interviews, surveys, and usability tests to gather insights on user behavior and preferences.
  • Design Documentation: Helping maintain design documentation, style guides, and design systems to ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Brainstorming and Ideation: Contributing ideas during team brainstorming sessions to solve user experience problems creatively.
  • Wireframing and Prototyping: Helping create low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes using Figma.
  • Creating In-App Help and Guidance: Writing instructional text, help documents, and tutorials that enhance the user journey and reduce friction.

Basic Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Psychology or Computer Science.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or other design and prototyping tools.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles such as usability, user-centered design, and accessibility.
  • Basic knowledge of user research methods such as surveys, interviews, personas, or usability testing, and awareness of how to gather user feedback and use insights to improve designs.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate with other designers, developers, and product managers.
  • Strong communication skills to present ideas and take feedback.
  • A willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and methodologies in UX/UI design and product management.
  • Have relevant coursework in design, usability, or human-centered design is often desirable.
  • Have a portfolio of design work (can be student projects or personal projects) showcasing an understanding of the design process, wireframes, prototypes, or user research efforts.
  • Be able to pay careful attention to visual consistency, layout, and interaction design to ensure seamless user experiences.
