Augustana College is a private, selective, residential college of the liberal arts and sciences with enrollment of 2600 students. Requirements:
Job Duties:
- Design & Production: Identify, design and produce a wide array of print and digital projects, with a focus on enhancing user experience in digital formats while maintaining the integrity of traditional marketing materials.
- Collaboration and Concept Development: Collaborate with users to understand their needs and develop creative solutions that align with brand standards and project goals. Present design ideas, iterate on concepts, and incorporate feedback to deliver high-quality final products.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Maintain open communication with all stakeholders to address concerns, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction with final designs.
- Managing Photographers: Coordinate relationship with photography vendors and managing student photographers.
- Creative Asset Management: Grow and maintain a well-organized inventory of creative assets, including photography to streamline project execution.
- Stay Current in Trends: Keep up with industry trends in higher education marketing, graphic design, AI and UX design to enhance departmental effectiveness and innovation in project delivery.
- Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to students working in the Office of Communication and Marketing, providing guidance on design principles, project management, and professional development.
- Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the Office of Communication and Marketing.
Additional Information:
Education: Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field required.
Skills & Experience:
- 1-3 years of demonstrated design experience for both print and digital projects.
- Excellent production skills with a variety of technologies including: web media: audio, video, user interface design and usability, and operating within a content management system.
- Working knowledge of design software with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite on Mac and PC format.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively and be flexible in design strategies.
- Strong concept development skills with ability to articulate concepts to coworkers and clients.
- Experience with photography preferred.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 15 pounds on a frequent basis. Also required is the ability to listen, hear, speak, read, write, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and stand for intermittently long periods of time. Must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment. Must be able to use a computer to accomplish a variety of job tasks.
