Empowering people to make greener travel choices is central to our focus in 2025 and beyond. Led by Will Barker, our Design Director (previously leading UX teams at IDEO & Samsung), the team are laser focused on building the worldâs #1 rail platform benefiting our communities and our world by reducing congestion and our collective carbon footprint - we believe our work has a genuine impact and will change travel for the better.
The role:
Come aboard and help us execute our vision of best-in-class Aggregation across UK & Europe in our brand new team. Youâll be in the hot seat for Supply â integrating and growing the capabilities of our train carriers. This means designing for our award-winning app and website, shipping features like seat maps, new fares and check-in. Itâs a highly complex and challenging space, with hundreds of carriers and fares. With our incredible growth across Europe, weâre bringing new carriers all the time â and the existing ones donât stand still either!
Whether itâs integrations which need deep discovery thinking, or existing features that need expanding across markets, youâll be reaching the customer at all touch points. Therefore, youâll understand and solve customer needs across a wide spectrum, working closely with Product and Engineering partners to ship in a high-velocity team. Youâll also have opportunities to support the rest of the team on value and aggregation initiatives, such as upselling, search and post-sales.
Youâll be supported but critically empowered toâŻoperate independently, executing against the end-to-end design process toâŻdeliver innovative and visually polished tactical solutions,âŻas well as contribute to Trainlineâs overall Aggregation strategy.â¨â¨We ship new products at speedâŻand employ a âbuild/test/learnâ mentality around our product development. To this end, success lies in your customer-centric mindset, your ability toâŻchallenge thinkingâŻandâŻdevelop our relationships with carriers. Â
This is an outstanding opportunity to come in and shape the future of rail retail as well as boost your design career, working within one of the most mature and established UX Teams in Travel. The role is based in London with occasional travel required to our Paris office where half our team is based.
Youâll understand theâŻpower and importance of quantitative data to assess the impact of design, and draw insights to iterate and optimise experience, playing back your explorations with clear narratives, woven together with data and research. Â
