Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses.

The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth.

Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. The UX team is hiring for a UI/UX Designer intern:

The UX team at Cboe is growing to be the innovation backbone of the company, through extensive cross-departmental and user research, we gather valuable insights that drive our projects forward, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience. Crafting reliable applications and engaging mock-ups to solve complex challenges while supporting developers and the Design Systems they rely on.

The UX intern will have a real-world experience collaborating with senior designers, stakeholders, software engineers and be able to contribute to our growth and company.

Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be:

  • Collaborate and engage with the company design system expansion.
  • Research and produce artifacts on specific application projects.
  • Create engaging mockups/prototypes for the site while communicating with the business, stakeholders and handoff to development.
  • The intern will be supported by a UX designer throughout the duration of the internship.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in the " User Experience Design" field (UX Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or similar) with a strong interest in the financial markets, and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments, work well on a team or on your own, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge or experience working with Design systems and Design Tokens.
