About the Beauty Squad

The Beauty Squad is THG Beauty’s in-house technology team. Our primary goal is to deliver innovative technology solutions that position THG Beauty as a market leader in beauty commerce. The team consists of dedicated engineers, a UX designer, and a product owner, all working together to manage and enhance the web platform that serves millions of beauty customers worldwide. This platform supports shipping to over 200 countries, handles over 10 million visits every month, and powers the sale of 22,000 products from more than 600 beauty brands. We also collaborate closely with external providers to deliver solutions in areas such as eCRM, retail media, and sustainability.

Since its formation in 2023, the Beauty Squad has transformed THG Beauty's technology landscape by developing a cutting-edge serverless frontend platform. This platform has revolutionised the developer experience, enabling faster deployments and cleaner, simpler code. It has also accelerated business impact by enhancing user experience and site performance, while enabling rapid iteration. Looking ahead, we’re entering an exciting phase of innovation, with plans to introduce groundbreaking features and improvements on our 2025 roadmap.

We are looking for a super talented UX Designer to join our ever-growing team of digital experts and critical specialists within the THG Beauty Squad. You will be a key player in developing world class UX solutions to support continued THG Beauty’s business growth across our industry leading ecommerce sites, apps and integrations.

Working with our partners in THG Ingenuity, we work across all aspects of UX workflow from discovery all the way through to delivery. We also deliver research and experimentation insights that help us drive rationale for our design decisions as well as identifying opportunities for platform automation, scalability and future product innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Create customer centric solutions alongside business requirements.
• Follow a user centred approach, ensuring both qual & quant data are used to inform design decisions, and shape solutions.
• Perform basic heuristic and competitor reviews to identify potential opportunities to guide future design decisions.
• Gather, understand, communicate business requirements to better inform design thinking and final solutions.
• Create detailed sketches, sitemaps, user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs, with a lean & agile approach across multiple devices/platforms.
• Create and conduct simple usability studies in-line with research principles to gain further insight into proposed designs.
• Collaborate with, contribute to, and promote internal central design standards to ensure consistency across product areas and brands.
• Regularly engage with managers and stakeholders to set and manage expectations.
• Playback and rationalise design solutions to immediate team, internal and external business stakeholders at senior levels, up to medium sized groups.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with the Beauty Squad, and other departments to successfully drive high quality design implementation.
• Contribute towards workflow development to drive team efficiency.
• Support experimentation feasibility meetings.

Requirements:

• You will have a working knowledge of the industry standard Digital Design software including Figma.
• Experience of design validation techniques and knowledge of our primary testing and design validation tools Usertesting.com, Optimal Workshop UserZoom would be an advantage.
• A knowledge of working with Component libraries and Design systems would be an advantage.
