About this Opportunity

MillerKnoll’s Summer Internship Program is a paid, 12-week opportunity that provides a 100% real-world experience for students early in their careers. Throughout the summer you will apply academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

As a User Experience (UX) Research Intern, you will assist in generating and distributing actionable insights gathered through research into the users and stakeholders of our digital products and services. You will help articulate and amplify the needs of our users to add value to both the users and MillerKnoll.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with design research activities throughout project lifecycles.
  • Help prepare and facilitate workshops.
  • Support user-centered design by championing the needs of users.
  • Communicate findings verbally, visually, and in written form to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to identifying trends and behaviors through data and analytics.
  • Assist in creating user journey maps and service design blueprints to address customer needs.
  • Help optimize user experiences through iterative testing.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested to support business objectives.

  • Enthusiasm for UX research and user-centered design.
  • Basic knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods (training provided).
  • Ability to synthesize research findings into actionable insights (with guidance).
  • Strong communication skills—verbal, visual, and written.
  • Willingness to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with office software and tools (or a willingness to learn).
  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year Bachelor’s degree in UX Research, Product Design, Information Systems, Graphic Design or a related field from an accredited college or university, and able to provide transcripts upon request.
  • You must have a GPA of at least 3.0 (overall or within your program) to qualify for consideration in the Intern Program. 
  • Must have satisfactorily completed basic coursework in the chosen degree program.  
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. 
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.

A starting compensation range for this role is $15.05 - $18.65. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors . You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive and equity awards which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
